Psychedelic Psnail

This was my very first semi decent completed project - "Hong Kong Garden" was my 2nd. I'm extremely attached to these two scarves as they define the real "turning point" of my nuno felting method. This one is made of 100% raw silk and just merino.............it looks quite "primitive" to me now after the tons of experimenting and zillion of mistakes I have made.......but I still love it!!

And OH! By the way, do you know why the Mona Lisa has that quirky smile?????

COZ SHE'S BEEN "TOYING" AROUND WITH THE PSYCHEDELIC PSNAIL JUST A TAD TOO MUCH!!!!!

The Caterpillar

"Flicka, flicka, flicka, flicka, here you are,
Cata, cata, cata, cata, Caterpillar Girl- Flowing in and filling up my hopeless heart, Oh never never go
Dust my lemon lies, with powder pink and sweet,
The day I stop is the day you change, and fly away from me..................."

I LOVE LOLLIPOPS!!! YUMMY!!

Lu"C" in the grass with diamonds............RIP!!

Remember good ole Lu"C"?? Well I gave her a makeover..........nobody wants to walk around with an Edwardian murder weapon wrapped around their neck. Now she's become "Everyone smiles as you drift past the flowers, that grow so incredibly high"!!!

It gives the effect that your head is coming out of a colorful rose.............

Martha's Vineyard..... (or MY version of it)

Martha's Vineyard is an island located south of Cape Cod, in Massachusetts, known for being an affluent summer colony..............

It was also home to one of the earliest known deaf communities in the U.S.; consequently, a special sign language, Martha's Vineyard Sign Language (MVSL) developed on the island............

"Jaws" was filmed on the island, and its also home to a number of artists and musicians.........

It needed some ironing but I had it stashed away in a plastic bag all day at work so this is as good as it gets!!!As far as I know, John Belushi is buried on the Vineyard. On his gravestone is the quote "Though I may be gone, Rock 'N' Roll lives on".............

All wrapped up and ready to go to its new owner..............

With azosoful of love.............................

BEFORE..and..AFTER

BEFORE:

A simple mohair dress........................

A simple vine flower......................

AFTER:
It couldn't have gotten any worse so, what the hell, I took a shot at it!!

I might work on it a little more someday.............I need some time to recuperate, but seriously, my digital camera doesn't do it any justice!!!

1003 "hits"!!

YES!! I promised you all a big surprise after I reached the 1000 hits and because I always keep my promises, here you go:

SURPRISE........!!!!!!!!

No, no!! No naked people jumping out of cakes!! Thanx for the support guys! Love ya lots!!!

Wake me up when September ends........i.e...... OCTOBER!!!!!

For some strange reason this scarf seems to lose all its beauty wrapped around someones neck so I decided to frame it!! I can only imagine it hanging on the wall of a very "minimal" bedroom or living room. It's got all those warm Autumn colors that I love, reminding me of my childhood...............pumpkins, Halloween and dad raking up all the red, brown, orange fallen leafs into huge piles....... my brother and I taking large jumping leaps into those piles..................followed by a slap upside the face of course!!!

Merino, silk hankies, novelty yarn..................I figured out, after the fact, that I should have framed it with glare free glass. I had a very hard time keeping myself from whacking it with a hammer when it was picture taking time............but then I realized I should have whacked my own head!!! Come on, guys!! Give me a break!! I don't have an inkling about picture framing........I'm just a nuno felter (and a natural blond)!!! These were my best shots!!

"A Whole Lotta "Oh'z"

One silk scarf, 100% merino wool and there you have it!! A whole lotta "Oh'z"

I always take special care in my packaging before sending them off to their new owners- in a similar motif as the scarf. These are my babies, and very personal to me. I put a lot of love into them when I create them and, as a rule, I send them off to their new owners with all that love!!

Wherever I lay my hat..............that's my home........

A triangular shape of black silk with sari threads for that stained glass effect makes a quirky, funky bandana/hat!!!You gotta love it!!! It's quite versatile- a hat, a tiny shawl and a neck warmer.........personally, I'd wear it as a hat...........but that's just me- and hopefully I can still get away with it!! I REFUSE to grow up!!!!

BTW- I wouldn't wear  this hat with the pin I've got in the photo...........that's for Peter Pan, but it was the only thing I had handy around the house to cover up the safety pin................I'd use a pin made of more dreadz and/or one loaded with lots of curly Wensleydale locks!!!

YUP!! That's more like it!!!!

Helter Skelter

Guess who's back from the bowels of photo shop!!! She's ALIVE!!! Welcome back Mz. P Floyd!! They say it's unwise to show too much skin over the net but seriously, chick, you are in desperate need of a shave!!! Remember that infantile shibori felted scarf I had wrapped around a waxed bottle? Well with a  funky pin it makes an excellent neck warmer! Check it out!!! Come on............I've got 945 hits- if I can reach 1000 I'll have a surprise for you guys so hit me, baby.......................HIT ME!!!!!

Touch of Grey

As you can tell from the quality of my photos, Mz. P. Floyd is avoiding me like the plague.......alas I've been taking my own pics with my very own digital camera. I'm very dangerous around heavy machinery and I have no idea how this darn thing works, so cut me some slack,ok?? Anywayz, I did manage to achieve something semi decent enuff to upload! Another futile attempt at cob web felt.........but this one came out rather "holey" like it's supposed to. Bamboo silk yarn incorporated into 100% merino wool- although merino isn't the best roving to work with for really good cobweb I'm proud of this project. I later discovered that optim (16 micron) merino works best because it's very fine. Ok, Ok enuff of the technical mumbo jumbo lets check it out:

I packaged it up ready to send to it's new owner!! It is said that the finest gifts come in small packages..............
Personally, I think it's half of the art..............they don't call me "bag lady" for nothin'..............

I tried to seal it up since it opens like a book, the old fashioned way with a candle melted seal.....

HAPPY NEW YEAR, FOLKS, GRATEFULLY DEADICATED STYLE!!!!!
"Oh well, a touch of grey
Kind of suits you anyway
That was all I had to say
And it's all right
We will get by, we will get by, we will get by..............WE WILL SURVIVE!!!
